Ridgefield Youth Lacrosse: Parents’ Code of Conduct
The most important aspect of my child’s youth lacrosse experience is for them to have fun while developing physical and emotional skills, and friendships that will serve them for life.
At all RYL activities at any venue, I will:
Create a positive lacrosse environment for my child, all players, coaches, referees, and parents.
Be encouraging and supportive of my child’s play on the field and development of his/her skills.
Not use antagonizing, offensive or threatening language.
I am responsible for ensuring my child is wearing properly fitted, fully functioning protective equipment for all games and practices. The safety of all participants is of the utmost importance.
I understand that my financial account with RYL must be current prior to my child playing in any games. Please inquire about RYL’s Scholarship Program if you have a unique financial need.
Any verbal or physical abuse of a player, coach, parent, or board member at or after a game or practice will be terms for immediate expulsion from the program.
Playing Time Policy
RYL’s goal is to have a fair playing time policy for all players. In certain games fair may not mean equal, but players will experience similar amounts of playing time over the course of the season. Playing time will be at the coach’s discretion. Factors may include: effort, ability to contribute, behavior and attendance.
Conflict Resolution Process
If I have a concern or grievance, I will:
Wait 24 hours before I take any action.
Send an email to
and a board member will contact you.
I will abide by the decision of the RYL Board on issues not specifically addressed in the scope of this document. I acknowledge the board will deal with violations of the Code of Conduct at its sole discretion, imposing warnings, suspension, or expulsion from the program as it deems appropriate. Refunds will not be given to players or parents suspended or expelled based on violations of the code.
