While we are excited to begin our lacrosse season, the health and safety of our players are our top priority. RYL just received guidance for our governing body, CONNY.
Ridgefield Youth Lacrosse is postponing all practices, gatherings and games until April 13th.
During this time, please refer to the guidance from USL and CDC regarding proper hand washing and sanitizing. RYL strongly discourages any small-group lessons or ‘parent practices’. While at home, kids should be doing wallball in their backyards; here are two options: WallBall1 – WallBall2.
On March 14, you should have received an email regarding 5th – 8th grade team placements.
Thank you for your time and understanding as we navigate these uncharted waters.
Ridgefield Youth Lacrosse
In light of the decisions with the State of Connecticut, and many of our public school systems, CONNY will align with the local towns and schools districts for youth activities. In addition, we have contacted US Lacrosse to inquire about protocols that other Chapters and Leagues have adopted. CONNY is dedicated to protecting our programs, coaches and players – we expect that individuals would stay committed to their individual town programs.
At this juncture, we are postponing the official start of the CONNY season until April 13. At the moment there aren’t many games scheduled before that date but those games will need to be rescheduled.
Should the environment change favorably prior to this, we will reassess. Though practices, clinics, coaches training, referee training and other in-person meetings can be dependent on your local school/town policies.
During this time we will continue to monitor the situation and the information available.
